Arts at Dianella Heights
Dianella Heights Primary School Performing Arts program includes a specialist music programme. Our specialist teacher Mrs Stynes coordinates our Junior and Senior Choirs, who successfully performed on a number of occasions; including the Ballanjarra Choir Fest, school assemblies and an outstanding performance at the end of year book Award Ceremony.
Miss Baros dedicates her time to coordinate a junior and senior dance troupe. Both troupes perform on a number of occasions throughout the year.
Each year a group of talented upper primary students are selected to be involved in our instrumental music program taught by Geoff Conner. These students showcase their musical talents at school events including the end of year Parent Morning Tea. Students from Pre Primary to Year 6 perform in front of the school at their class assemblies. Classes also learnt a variety of engaging school songs that are performed at the end of each Assembly.
Miss Mincherton co-ordinates a whole school approach to visual arts at Dianella Heights Primary School. She provides activities and professional learning to class teachers, including a major project of a Cultural Wall. Students created clay tiles that formed a whole school mural that included flags that represented forty four different countries, reflecting the diverse cultures of our school community.
